Buds!

BUDS is a lightweight companion mod that allows you to find beacons that can summon squads of Backup Units for Disruption and Skirmishing (BUDS for short) to assist you in battle!

These speedy little guys will zip around the battlefield, strafing foes with small arms fire! They don't do a lot of damage, and while they won't win all of Plutonia for you, they can keep demons suppressed with sheer numbers and volume of fire. Work with your BUDS and they will turn the tides of battle in your favour! They even match your player's color, because they are rooting for you.

When playing with this mod, you may find Bud Beacons that might spawn along with large ammo pickups and backpacks. Activating the beacon will teleport in a squadron of BUDS, and possibly a BUD Captain, with more HP and armed with mini-rockets!
Beware, the enemy can resurrect BUDS and have them turn against you!

Works alongside all your favourite mods - including Hideous Destructor!

Type give budbeacon in the console to give yourself a beacon instantly. You can carry up to 16 at a time, which stay in your inventory between levels.

Tested with GZDoom 4.10.0 and LZDoom 3.87.

Should work with any ZDoom-derived port and DOOM IWAD.
